Our Story
Printed Wordz was created by the Pottsville Free Public Library as a digital outreach initiative to serve readers who want more than a traditional catalog experience. Named for our community's enduring love of books, newspapers, and handwritten history, Printed Wordz combines the warmth of a neighborhood library with modern tools for discovery, creation, and preservation.
From our home at 215 W Market Street in downtown Pottsville, we have served Schuylkill County for generations. Printed Wordz extends that mission online — hosting our book club community, showcasing rare regional volumes, publishing librarian reviews, and promoting technology services like free digitizing and 3D printing.

The Library Behind the Project
Pottsville Free Public Library is a cornerstone institution in Pennsylvania's anthracite coal region. Our collections include extensive local history materials, genealogical resources, and children's literature programs that reach families across the county. Printed Wordz is one way we ensure those resources remain visible, accessible, and engaging in a digital age.
Visit in Person
While Printed Wordz lives online, our books, archives, and maker services are available at the library during regular hours. A valid library card unlocks borrowing, digitizing appointments, and 3D printing sessions. Cards are free to Pottsville residents and available to non-residents for a nominal annual fee.
